October 3, 2008

In 2008, the New Kids on the Block reunited, came out with a new album, and kicked off a world tour in Toronto Ontario. I hadn't moved back to Toronto yet, but I caught the tour in Cleveland OH with my BFF on October 3. It was my first New Kids concert since March 18, 1990, and an incredible experience. It was also the first time G-Dub went anywhere outside my room. (Prior to this, my little fluff [as I call him] was still hanging off my mardi gras beads, except for occasionally moving him to my computer desk or taking him down and giving him a snug.)

At the time, G-Dub just had his pride chain, but I took that off, and his hat, since I was a little worried people would think he was too odd. I have since realized otherwise!

At the Hard Rock Cafe, we met up with other fans prior to the show, and they adored GayDonnie. I'm the one that looks like a 6th member of Duran Duran, while my friend Michi is on the right. :)

The other girls we met seemed to like G-Dub as well....perhaps a little too much. But at least they didn't mind the fact that he was gay!

We did meet like, one guy fan though, and he liked G-Dub quite a bit! :)

G-Dub proved to be quite the party animal...er, party dolly!

G-Dub also represented! He knew why we were all here! :D

And finally....SHOWTIME!!!!!

I don't have any pics after that, because what followed was the most wonderful emotional roller coaster I have ever been to!! When I wasn't hugging GayDonnie tightly to me, I was waving him in the air, or in some cases, crying all over him.

This was the event that turned this doll into one of the most valuable things anyone has ever given me. Because when I look at him, I see memories of the most positive experience I have ever been to. :)
